Qualifications

She first noticed her intuitive abilities at the age of seven while she and her brother were in their respective bunk beds, playing a guessing game. From his vantage point, on the top bunk, he could clearly observe all the cars that zoomed by and he’d ask, “What color was that car?” After numerous correct guesses that could no longer be deemed as such, her brother abruptly ended the game. When she prodded him to keep playing he simply answered,“Too scary,” and that was that. All through childhood, she had recurring flashes of precognition as well as psychic visions that didn’t make any sense to her at the time. Years later, those visions had come to pass and never again would she take them for granted. While attending college, she was drawn to esoteric and metaphysical texts, studying the likes of Joseph Campbell, Carlos Castenada, Istak Bentov and Joseph Chilton Pearce. Several of her professors took notice and one day invited her to join their private occult. In these meetings, she gained a whole new perspective on reality and the power of the human mind. Her intuitive abilities suddenly began to make sense and she found herself moving in a direction where she could help others. She used Tarot cards to read for friends and they were amazed with her level of accuracy. She could scarcely believe herself how powerful her intuitive powers had become. After college, she returned home and found her way to the oldest established coven in St. Louis. It was originally founded in the early 70’s by Alexander Sander’s “missionaries.” The circumstances which led her to this group seemed accidental, but deja vu and some of her childhood visions belied its coincidental nature. She recalls going to her first Samhain with this group, which just so happened to be in her grandmother’s old neighborhood. As she neared the address, she was overwhelmed by a memory of the past. She was ten when she had an encounter with a dragonfly-like creature on that very same sidewalk. It was much larger than any dragonfly she’d ever seen before. It flew up to her, reaching her eye-level and hovered there for a while. The sound of its wings was very loud and the creature itself was somewhat frightening to behold as it looked her over, moving up and down. It then circled around her several times and finally flew off in the direction of a nearby house. She recalled how the hair on her arms was standing on end and she was covered with goosebumps. She never did know quite how to describe the experience to anyone, and so she instead decided to keep it to herself and file it away in the recesses of her mind. Now, in 1989, here she was again in that same place she stood as a child and the memory rushed back at her all at once. She suddenly realized that the house that the creature had fled to was the very same one that she was about to enter now. Currently, it was the home of the Sabbat festival. This experience was only one in a very long list of mind-bending psychic occurrences.

Experience

Her journey into higher consciousness has been a series of adventures that has led her to discover the mystery and magic of life. She participated in Voudon rituals at The New Orleans Temple of Voodoo with Mambo Miriam and Louis Martinez (author of THE NEW ORLEANS VOODOO TAROT); she attended Maatian rituals and workshops with Nema (author of many magical books and articles); she’s taken part in OTO events with author, Lon Duquette; and, she participated in the 1994 St. Louis Cybercultural event with Timothy Leary at Sheldon Hall. She’s co-founder of the OTO’s “Starry Arch Camp” and “The Hawk and Vulture Club,” a maatian group that has since dissolved. Since 1989, she’s been a working Priestess in “Coven Pleides” and attained the title of “High Priestesshood” in 1998. Since 1990, she’s given palm and tarot card readings to the public at large and is often contracted for large special events. She’s also created and performed cleansing and balancing rituals for several businesses where owners complained that their space felt chaotic and unbalanced. These same owners are now thriving and continue to express their gratitude to her several years later! Most recently, Grendl began reading tarot cards for a telephone psychic service and has already developed a regular and loyal clientele.

Personal

Born December 17, 1965, in the year of the Wood Snake, Grendl is a Sagittarius from Saint Louis, Missouri. Her Libra Moon often places her on the fence regarding personal decisions, but Mars in her Third House has enabled her to be an effective communicator. Neptune in her Twelfth House amplifies her intuitive abilities and explains her inclination to explore the metaphysical world. Although she is a typical Sag who loves to travel, her Scorpio Rising demands she have a stable home base. She has therefore situated herself in St. Louis where she resides in a fabulous 1925 art deco home that she shares with her husband, her three year old boy and her eleven month old baby girl. For the last couple of years, she has been a stay-at-home mom while working on a certification to be a naturopathic doctor, providing valuable nutritional advice and botanical remedies and supplements to family, friends and anyone who cares about looking and feeling their best.
